Last day of Bam Bam baseball at Raccoon Valley little league!
I got to hit a water balloon off the tee! "I DESTROYED it."
Good game, good game, good game...

My fans!
See ya next season!

We took Chuck for a swim at Gray's Lake.
Chuck is a great swimmer. I hope I'm a great swimmer soon, too.

I went miniature golfing for the first time!! My friends Arin and Brooksley joined us.

Brooksley and I stayed focused on golf for the first 7 holes or so (out of 18).

Then we played at Colby Park.

For dinner we ate outside at The Royal Mile.

The Cowles Commons fountain finally opened,
so of course I begged to play in it on the way home.
(Just FIVE minutes, Mom???)

40 minutes later ...

Today we explored the city park in Winterset, Iowa!

We started with a breakfast picnic at home on the front step.
First we got lost trying to find the park, but we found this nice river instead.

We explored the playground and the hedge maze.
Then we had second breakfast in the shady and beautiful park.

We embarked on a hike up to Clark Tower.
Mom thought we were lost and was unsuccessfully trying to use her GPS, but I pointed out this helpful sign.

We made it to the tower at last.
I climbed all the way to the top, no worries! Chuck could not climb the ladder, though.

We were hungry after all the excitement, so we picked up some sandwiches and ate them on the town square.
Did I save room for ice cream at the old-timey ice cream stand? Yes, I did.

Today we had some fun at Ledges State Park and the Boone and Scenic Valley Railroad!

Before we left home, I told Mom this park did not sound like fun.

I was wrong! It was the best!

I met some friends (of course) and we tried to catch fish in the stream.

What do you know? This fella caught a tadpole!

We also hiked on a few of the trails along the sandstone cliffs.

Last, we walked the Lost Lake nature trail. We saw some cool wetlands and met some really nice mosquitos.

Next stop: Boone and Scenic Valley Railroad!

"Mom! I've never ridden a passenger train before!!!!"

We went over a 156-foot trellis and it felt like we were flying (at 5mph-- very surreal)!

Sometimes I act big and tough, but I still like these little rides...

... and I can't pass up a wooden toy train.
