My cousin Kalani came for a visit! 

We had dinner at Vivian's with cousin Kent and Aunt Anne. First we drew on our MagnaDoodles. 

Then we read Elephant and Piggie together. Kalani is about to start second grade, so I thought she was the coolest.  

We walked to our house, and on the way we stopped to play the piano. 

Kalani is Dad's first cousin's daughter. Mom says that makes us second cousins. Whatever that means. 

On Saturday Mom and I hit up the farmers' market. We sat by the river and ate chocolate brioche and found some binoculars before meeting Dad at Fong's. Pretty good morning!

On Saturday afternoon we took a walk and played some catch to get ready for college football season. 

On Sunday I suggested we go to the zoo. So we did!

I was excited because Mom FINALLY let me get face paint, which I demanded be removed shortly thereafter.

The Last Day of Summer

We FINALLY got to go to Sky Zone -- and my friend Will joined us!

We had a special treat for lunch -- another place I've been begging Mom to go.

On Saturday we relaxed at home and played a few competitive rounds of Uno. 

I'm at the awkward age when I can understand how to play card games, but my hands aren't big enough to hold them.
So I made this little fort to hide my hand.   

On Sunday I had a great lunchtime playdate with my buddy James.

We went to the Iowa State Fair with Grandpa!

I milked this (very patient) cow!

We learned facts about dairy cows. 

I felt like a scary tough guy (apparently) trying out the Bobcat. 

We're riding the sky ride! Can you see Grandpa behind us? I'm nervous that Mom will drop her phone :)

Mmmmmmm ... cheese curds. Just kidding, I refuse to eat melted cheese. (???)

I'll stick with this delicious stuff.

Baby chickens hatched before our eyes!

We saw a baby pig being born!

Mommy pig was drinking water and wondering why so many people were watching her give birth. 

Look how high I can bounce!

We had to stop at Jalapeño Pete's, of course. 

I assisted the bartender in ringing his bell. 

We ended the day with rides and the giant slide!

This week I had Robotics camp at the Science Center. Mom and I stopped for some coffee and a pastry on the way. 

We had some fun guests this week! This is Phoenix. I'm helping take care of her at Buzzard Billy's.

Phoenix and her parents, Leslie and Rafael, are moving from Brooklyn to L.A.! 

Phoenix is the cutest.

Good thing Fong's is on the way home from camp. We watched Rugby and enjoyed a slice.
